Hi, hi new and old friends! Upon some reflection back in Finland this June and July, I knew this newsletter needed a new name: Scandi Class.
As I continue splitting time with our family in both the Nordics and in the US, I keep learning invaluable lessons on how to live without anxiety and overwhelm and avoid burnout—and how to thrive with life, in wellness and with parenting.
When I got back to the US last week, I heard from two American mom friends who talked about “surviving”—with kids home from school, or when the other parent travels, or when the kids are not in camp. I used to talk like this too.
But in Scandinavian countries, no one “survives” with kids. Life is lived entirely differently, to avoid so many of the burdens mom here have and put on themselves.
In the next few posts, I’ll dive deeper into how the Scandis just simply thrive, and never survive—and these are mostly about the mindset, independence and the embrace of nature.
Next up though—in a few minutes!—you’ll get a priceless interview I did, from Sweden, with Vogue Scandinavia’s first ever male beauty editor and now Nordic Beauty PR guru on how to rock your best authentic self on social and in real life—without filters. An
